The Difference

Why Homeowners Choose Home Fortress Roofing & Construction for Gutter Installation in Middletown

  • One piece per run

Seamless gutters are formed in a single length for each side of the house, so the only joints are at corners and downspout outlets. Sectional gutters have joints along the run, and those joints leak once the sealant dries out.

  • Fascia fixed first

A new gutter screwed to a soft board will pull loose again. On our Elkton, MD job we replaced the rotted fascia, wrapped it in custom-bent aluminum and upgraded the gutters.

  • Roofers at the roof edge

Shingles, fascia and gutter meet in the same few inches at the eave. We work on all three. A gutter problem often turns out to be a roof-edge or fascia problem.

How gutter installation works, and how gutters fail

A gutter has one job: catch the water coming off the roof and carry it to a downspout that puts it on the ground away from the house. When it fails, the water goes where it should not.

It runs down the fascia board, soaks the soffit, washes out the mulch bed below, or pools against the foundation. Homeowners tend to notice one of those symptoms before they look up at the gutter.

More about gutter installation

Sectional gutters leak at the joints once the sealant dries out, and loose hangers let a run sag so water sits in the low spot instead of draining.

Downspouts clog at the elbow, and the backed-up water spills over the front lip or over the back edge and down the fascia, the board the gutter hangs from.

On a roof replacement we did in Elkton, MD, posted September 21, 2026, the fascia around the perimeter had rotted. We replaced it and wrapped the new boards in custom-bent aluminum, which covers the wood and finishes the trim line.

Size matters more than most people expect. A 5 inch K-style gutter, the profile with a flat back and a shaped front, is the common residential size. A 6 inch gutter is wider and deeper, so it holds more water before it overflows.

That helps on a long roof run, on a steep roof that sheds water fast, and under a valley where two roof planes meet. On the Elkton job we upgraded the existing 5 inch gutters to seamless 6 inch K-style white aluminum to manage the water better.

Seamless gutters start as a flat coil of aluminum run through a forming machine. Each run comes out as one continuous piece cut to length, so there are no mid-run seams to reseal later.

We installed a new seamless gutter system and wrapped fascia on a rear addition where the new roof tied into the existing one. One Google reviewer had us put up new gutters with gutter guards and new downspouts as part of a wider exterior project.

We do not clean gutters. If yours are sound and only full of leaves, a cleaning service is the right call and we will tell you so.

We come in when the gutter itself is the problem: leaking seams, sagging runs, the wrong size for the roof, or rot behind it. Delaware gets humid summers, coastal storms and freeze and thaw through the winter, and all of that water reaches the gutter before it reaches the ground.

Typical price ranges for gutter replacement: $1,000–$3,000 for a townhouse, $2,000–$5,000 for an average single-family home and $4,000–$8,000+ for a larger single-family home. Pricing depends on the total linear footage, 5-inch versus 6-inch gutters, the number and size of downspouts, gutter color, whether gutter guards are included and how complex the installation is. Your own price comes after the free estimate; call (302) 314-1025 to set one up.

I enjoyed working with Randy. Great price. Great work. He was punctual and his crew completed the job in one day. His crew spent close to an hour making sure the property was cleaned up after the job was finished. Randy was on sight during the day to inspect and provide updates on progress. He walked around the job with me upon completion to make sure I was satisfied with the work and clean up. Would highly recommend.

I had Randy from Home Fortress come out to take a look at my roof to make sure we were still in good space after all the storms this year. I really appreciated that he was honest and didn’t try to sell me a whole new roof when I didn’t need one. He found a few loose shingles and some nail pops, took care of the quick repairs, and explained everything clearly. It was refreshing working with someone who was more focused on fixing the problem than making a bigger sale. If you’re looking for someone who’s knowledgeable, easy to work with, and trustworthy, I’d definitely recommend Home Fortress.

It's refreshing to work with a company that values customer service, high-quality workmanship, and clear communication. I highly recommend Randy and his team!

FAQs

Gutter Installation in Middletown: Your Questions

Do you clean gutters in Middletown, DE?

No, we do not clean gutters, in Middletown or anywhere else. What we do is install new gutters and replace old ones, along with the downspouts and any rotted fascia behind them. If your gutters are in good shape and only clogged, a gutter cleaning company is who you need.

What size gutters do you install on Delaware homes?

It depends on the roof. On a job in Elkton, MD we replaced 5 inch gutters with seamless 6 inch K-style white aluminum to improve how the water was handled. A wider gutter makes sense on long runs, steep roofs and below valleys, so ask us at the estimate which size we are proposing and why.

Can you replace rotted fascia when you hang new gutters in New Castle County?

Yes. Fascia rot usually shows once the old gutter is off, and on our Elkton, MD job we replaced the rotted fascia around the roof perimeter and wrapped it with custom-bent aluminum. One Google reviewer also had fascia replaced by us after wind damage.

Are seamless gutters worth it for a Kent County home?

For most houses, yes. Sectional gutters have joints along every run, each one depending on sealant that dries out over time, while a seamless gutter is one piece per run, so the joints are limited to corners and downspout outlets. We have installed a seamless gutter system on a rear addition and seamless 6 inch gutters on a full roof job.

How much does gutter replacement cost in Middletown, DE?

Typical ranges are $1,000–$3,000 for a townhouse, $2,000–$5,000 for an average single-family home and $4,000–$8,000+ for a larger single-family home. The total linear footage, 5-inch or 6-inch gutters, how many downspouts and how big, the gutter color, whether gutter guards are part of the job and how complex the installation is all move the price. The estimate is free.

How do I get a gutter estimate in Middletown, Delaware?

Call (302) 314-1025; estimates are free. Our hours are Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 6 PM and Saturday from 9 AM to 2 PM. We come to you, look at the gutters and fascia and take photos.
